It comes from Moldbug, who used more phrasing that emphasized it is fiction, but that version is somewhat clunky. Auron tells it better with a higher expectation of the readership to understand it is similar to a morality tale.
I saw one interview with Yarvin when I didn't know who he was, and ended up concluding that he's an odd fellow who gets some things wrong about history (e.g. kings were never 'absolute' in the way he wrongly presupposes). But Auron is always rather persuasive. He does tell everything better.
While he does have useful concepts and turned me onto some good books, I moved Yarvin into the enemy category when I realized he would be happy with Bezos as King of America.
It's also 100% projection.
