After more than 45,000 gun deaths in 2020 and more than 24,000 already this year, one legally armed bystander -- a young man carrying a handgun in an Indiana mall -- was able to use his weapon to kill a mass shooter.
Many of these over 45,000 and 24,000 also killed the shooter.
After more than 45,000 gun deaths in 2020 and more than 24,000 already this year...
As you say, a ton of those are suicides. Also, those are exceptionally high numbers. Which at least in part debunks the 'it's the guns' argument, since gun laws didn't change drastically. It was mostly a combination of government interventionism regarding the coof, and the mental impact that caused; and the increasingly lax enforcement of existing laws, and the (Democrat) insistence on not keeping repeat violent criminals in prison. People went nuts, and they keep letting the people who were already nuts out to do nutty shit.

So much wrong with this. This was just so high profile they're finally forced to talk about it; it's not a singular occurrence. And, most importantly, most defensive firearms usage doesn't even result in the firing of the weapon, as I recall. They can't just be like 'well, we never talked about it before, so it doesn't happen.'
Few months ago even here we had a thread about a woman who killed a wannabe mass shooter in America before he even hit anyone. He too had a rifle (illegal because felon), she had a pistol (legally) and shot him in the head after he started shooting.
It was reported by the BBC (Buck Breaking Confederates) and the poster was Imp who was angry about it, because woman.
Perfect example of something gun control leftists just don't understand. If someone wants to commit mass murder, they aren't worried about the illegal gun charges they'll be hit with.
They're naive megalomaniacs who think everything will be performed perfectly by the government.

Because they were suicides.
I think this is called online radicalisation.

45k would be a record low month at planned parenthood….
