Gotta love the "books people totally read" racket for politicians.
Honestly feels like at this point they go into politics as the stepping stone to this stage of the career, where they can make the smae money but without any work but finding ghostwriters.
Always was. You probably realize this, but the book is just a payoff, and the money don't come from the readers either. Politicians by and large go into it either to swing business their way while in office or to get paid off by those they do that for when they leave.
Hey, don't forget giving the media a source to quote a few weeks worth of material from that looks like a totally neutral source giving out the info to everyone, instead of them selling their story directly and looking scummy in doing so.
That's but a trifle compared to how much they are paid in bribes by Goldman Sachs as 'speaking fees', and by being on the Board of Directors for corporations. Not to mention the sinecures that they receive.
But obviously only if you've been obedient to the wishes of Goldman Sachs.
