Doctors and drug scientists who fuck with brain chemistry are no better than the ones who did lobotomies. They don't have a clue what the fuck they're doing and they're just blindly hacking away in the dark.
Heck, they're worse; they're essentially doing lobotomies long distance by proxy, to people they've never met...for tons more money.
There's probably a dozen SSRIs on the market.
No clinical trial can prove that any SSRI is superior to any other for any treated condition.
Choosing which drug to start a patient on is 100% based on brand identity, prescriber preference and randomness.
Your average psychiatrist is choosing your drug in a fashion to preferring Coke over Pepsi.
