Canada and Russia can both be bad. It's not an either/or. Canada is behaving like an authoritarian leftist regime that is betraying the principles of modern liberal democracy - which prominently feature a strict adherence to aggressively promoting human rights.
We now see that the Left only aggressively promoted human rights as a selfish tactic when it believed it was the underdog and would receive the bulk of the benefit from said policies. Now that the Left has shifted, and believes that it has successfully attained supremacy, the truth is laid bare, and the Left is violating these rights with respect to its political opponents.
Once again, and not for the last time, this establishes the Right as the sole guarantor or moral and ethical virtue in the West.
"When I am weaker than you I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles"
^ this quote will never get old. It encapsulates the modern Left. This was always their plan. They only lust for power, and their lust for power dictates their behavior at all stages. When weak, they play the victim and exploit the superior morality and ethical virtue of the Right, seeing it as a weakness. When strong, they brutally and ruthlessly suppress the Right because that is what anyone whose goal is absolute power would always do.
. which prominently feature a strict adherence to aggressively promoting human rights.
Which is the exploit. Look at the language groomers use these days "Protecting their rights" - they're inventing new rights, such as the right to diddle kids, to game the biases of the liberal democratic system.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is offering charitable tax receipts for donors to Tamara Lich’s legal defence in advance of her breach of bail hearing. Have a hard time understanding how defending breach of bail charges counts as a charitable activity.
Russia bad because political prisoners!

Do not, and I repeat DO NOT ever surrender to them peacefully.
They are there to make examples, not do justice.
Ehn, she's still alive and she will get out, probably with all charges dropped. She'll be doing speaking tours by the fall.
Better than being taken down in a hail of bullets.
