TL;DR is basically in the title
As I stated in the title: they're noticing things andnd I think this may actually be an awakening for some.
I will not go so far as to call them NPCs for multiple reasons, one being that the people I am mostly talking about saw through Heard's bullshit claims and supported Depp, a male who suffered domestic abuse at the hands of a woman. Those of which are not usually listened to, or shown compassion and sometimes even mocked.
They're looking at outlets like Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, The New York Times, etc, etc (those the left usually gravitates towards) and noticing the lying these oulets are doing regarding Depp and how this trial will "silence women who experience abuse", despite evidence presented in the trial which, for those of who don't know, was televised and livestreamed so there is no question what happened, what evidence was presented, how the two parties - plaintiff and defendant - came off during, etc.
I don't want to go looking for it but you can find twitter posts from an attorney of (((Harvey Weinstein's))) actually parroting this sentiment of (paraphrased) "this finding will negatively effect female victims of domestic violence."
Ironic, isn't it?
These people - Depp's supporters - are seeing how the leftist media gaslights people, despite the evidence being clear as day.
This is a great thing, not because some of them may lean more to the right from now on, but because they are realising how corrupt and dishonest mainstream - and often legacy - media is and has become.
There is a quote I saw on here a few days ago from either Huxley or Orwell in which the premise was essentially that. They they watched hundreds of men fight bravely for an unwinnable cause, being branded as cowards, while those who never saw battle were hailed as mighty heroes. Where they read in the newspapers of the destruction of a city, while looking on it peacefully untouched. etc...
I think that was Orwell. He served in the Spanish Civil War as an volunteer for the Democratic Socialists (who were aligned with the Republican coalitions), and was branded a coward and a "Trotskyite Fascist" by the Communist faction. He actually had to stay out of combat, for fear that the Communists could assassinate him, and even start a "friendly fire incident" on the front line. I think he was even put through a struggle session. That's when he came up with that quote: realizing that people who had never fought a single battle were being claimed as war heroes who had single-handedly defeated entire enemy units (because the whole thing was made up), while people who were actually on the fornt line (not just him) were being branded as cowards since they couldn't defend themselves because they were still fighting on the front.
The work you are looking for is Looking back on the Spanish war chapter 4,
He also speak of the fear that the very concept of objective truth was fading out of the world.... well we now know how world without objective truth is heading.
It's sad because even in this letter he's still repeating Leftist propaganda.
The Soviets were never intent on killing the Spanish Revolution, they were mostly busy trying to unfuck themselves from the Winter War, but would have preferred a proper Communist government. They did have a major concern that a Leftist government in Spain would be outside of their control, but they wouldn't have preferred to end the revolution. It's just your typical infighting Leftist infighting because the Republicans were more Fabian aligned, and the Anachro-Syndicalists were completely on their own program.
And then there's a whole conversation we can have about the start of the Civil War actually coming as the result of the Anachro-Syndicalists revolting from the Republic in the first place, and that whole situation was put on hold when the military decided to overthrow the Republic too. IIRC
Can't help you with that, I am not a scholar. Not too well read on that part of the Civil War, I just know where to find the quote.
But I agree that he were still stuck in leftist propaganda when writing this.
Orwell predicted the Ukrainian war!
War, war never changes...
