This isn't totally on topic, but has anyone else noticed that there are now entire freezers of "alternate meat" packed full of literal soy at the grocery store? I only started shopping for myself last year so I don't know how long this has been going on but I don't remember seeing this shit when I went grocery shopping with my mom as a kid. There's no way there's enough demand for that considering how tiny the vegan population is. The agenda is definitely there and they're using their climate change scam to further it.
But I wonder if people are going to accept this laying down.
What are they going to do about it? Meat will become artificially more expensive while the gay stuff will be subsidized by Fink and friends. The only way to fight back is to raise your own cows and chickens, if you can even afford the inflated land to do such things.
It’s fairly new and at the start of covid when everyone rushed to stock pile food no one was buying the fake meat. So the majority would rather starve than eat that crap
I notice that event during lent no one buys that crap. I tried eating vegan meatballs once and they were uneatable and any "fake food" that people say it tastes good has a ton of sauce and artificial flavors to hide the taste.
There is no demand for it but since it is so heavily processed and filled with preservatives and chemicals they can have that "soy meat" in the fridge for months before it goes bad.
I like food and like trying new food, so I'm also open to trying out vegan food.
Some vegan bread spreads/dips are good (hey salsa is vegan), and I could see myself occasionally buying them and use them.
I'm also even not against eating insects. I've eaten grilled/roasted insects in Asia and they were okay/good. I mean shrimp/crab are basically insects of the sea.
But for everything that uses any meat-substitute substance (be it soy or insect protein)... it's horrible. Well everything I tried.
The consistency is wrong. The taste is wrong. Everything is just chemical disgusting shit.
The last experiment were some pea-protein based sausages. I ate one and even with mustard/sriracha it was horrible.
I wanted to try the other ones (using a different method of cooking) but I couldn't get myself to do it (for over a week). So I threw them away.
I think it depends on the grocery store. I haven't seen it in Florida, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was in Seattle. Especially something big chain like Safeway.

their plan in EU is to have the products mixed with other products, without announcing they are meatless

Yep, even at the shitty organic hippie market I shop at, the butcher is always busy and the multiple cases of soy and feaux meat molder and expire.
I will say Impossible Burgers taste pretty good.

They may be vegan but they are not healthy.
