Ukraine was on the brink of retaking Donetsk in August 2014 (advancing from all directions except the airport where they were holding waiting for the final push, even the link with Luhansk was severed) when the totally-not-Russian armored forces poured in across the border and destroyed a bunch of mostly police units at Ilovaisk, and the ceasefire began after the shock of this. Go see the maps between April and September.
Why do you say "Russia" and not "Moscow regime"?
The fuck you talk, "use the city as a human shield"? To defend it? Even Mariupol was defended in 2014, just the defense was broken in 1 day because the Russian city commandant "Chechen" (not really a Chechen, just a veteran of Chechnya) left them without command and they all broke and run/hid/surrendered (defeated by Azov who came armed with only rifles, grenades and machineguns with no military backup, there was no need for "firepower", just a daring raid in few dump trucks straight to the enemy HQ). Is the tardadion kicking in again? Get a fucking grip.
It wasn't "shelling of civilians" even according to the official Russian narrative, but feel free to continue sperging it in the years ahead (it was months ago, a single incident) for your beating-negros whatabboutry.
How sad that the rebels lost Slaviansk and Severeodonetsk, which are only now being won back at great cost to the civilian population.
Russia is less contemptible than Ukraine, because it has not prostituted itself to the world's bully, Anyway, everyone hates Russia, but Ukraine is somehow sacred despite its many Nazi memorials, the Azov Batallion and its war crimes.
In an open field, the Ukrainian army would lose in about 2 seconds. Which is why they hole up in apartment buildings and supermarkets, and then cry about 'evil Russia' when they are struck.
Every week or so, pro-Russian sources post images which they say is the result of shelling of Donetsk. So what is your claim here precisely? That Ukraine does nothing wrong, and that it does not target civilians, despite Poroshenko's own bragging about how the children of Donbas have to sit in the basement?
And even American propaganda sites have admitted that their client uses cluster munitions on Donetsk... even 8 years ago. Not 'months' ago.
Why is it 'whataboutism' to bring up anything bad that the Americans and their clients do? Am I justifying the bad things Russia did? No. Just saying that the Americans have absolutely no standing here, and neither do their clients.
You hate Ukraine, but Russia is somehow sacred despite its many Soviet memorials (that they restore in Ukraine as they conquer), the Dzerzhinsky Division, the literal Chekists.
Btw Azov isn't a battalion since 2014. Also is a pretty clean unit actually. (No, really. Yes, I am completely serious, and you believe in a meme.)
Seconds, lmao. You talk like Comrade General Kadyrov (now also an army general and not just of the police) threatening to conquer Poland in "6 seconds". You've become culturally an Islamic Communist too. How do you feel about it?
And the war is mostly fought in open fields and villages and forests.
Yes, you do justify. And you're "how sad" on how the worshippers of Lenin and Stalin have lost most of the territories they seized in 2014 so they need to reconquer it now with their artillery barrages and murder-loot-rape spree zachistkas.
Hardly. Have you heard me say that it is good to reduce Mariupol to rubble? It's just hard to notice that Western countries condemn this sort of thing when it's their enemy doing it, but not when Ukraine is shelling Donetsk, or when they themselves are reducine Libya, Syria and Serbia to rubble.
I don't care about their LARPing ideology (and they should not be prosecuted for that), except as far as it shows that Western protestations about "NEVER AGAIN!!!" are as hypocritical as everything else that the West says.
Da, thanks for the honor, Premier Romanov.
Puzzled at this amount of crazy, but I guess that's Poland for you.
OK. How?
Hard to blame people for Soviet nostalgia when the post-Soviet experience has been such a nightmare.
Are artillery barrages bad again? They weren't bad when Poroshenko was bragging about forcing children of Donbas into basements, at least according to the hypocritical West.
What date was when Poroshenko said this, and did they do it? Because if it was after the ceasefire, all was going was the slugfest at Donetsk Airport (and the mostly evacuated villages held by Ukraine - few old people refused to leave) and later also Debaltseve was wrecked by Russians (regulars too, like at Ilovaisk earlier). The rest was low intensity trench warfare in completely depopulated areas with mortars and tanks at most (arty pulled back), with civs usually dying from old mines and unexploded ordnance if from anything at al (it was closely monitored by the OSCEE and the UN)l. Oh, and when Mariupol and Kramatorsk were suddenly hit by rockets, which maybe what so upset Poroshenko.
