I disagree. The Twitter model encourages users, official company accounts or not, to spout exactly this kind of unfiltered nonsense.
We get plenty of nonsense on every type of platform, though. Even long form video essays have a lot of nonsense, i.e. breadtube.
I still maintain that there's something especially nefarious about Twitter, and the whole "microblog" model. It's probably a confluence of factors: the like/retweet model feeding into people's need for instant gratification, the bewildering pace of the conversation on those platforms making it difficult for people to actually think about things instead of just constantly react, and the mandated brevity which just eliminates any room for nuance.
All of these things together just create a platform that distills retardation into a purer and more virulent form. Gab may have a different political bent, but that doesn't make it any more productive when it comes to the exchange of ideas.
Yeah, it probably is especially bad. Even the post in the OP isn't fleshed out or well-worded.
Exactly. People forget, before Gab was Free Speech Twitter, Twitter itself was Free Speech Twitter and Twitter still sucked with Free Speech.
