These people could not have found Ukraine on a map two weeks ago. Now, they support war crimes, because the media tells them "RUSSIA BAD".
Most of the people opposing this are saying that it will be bad for the "Ukrainian cause", whatever that is. Others say that they still should have done this, just not filmed it.
Apparently, while making jokes violates Reddit sitewides, these people can call for whatever they want without any sort of consequence. It's amazing what you can do when you are a tool of the regime, rather than in opposition to it.
The irony is that by their standards, the Russians would be right in murdering Ukrainian POWs (which, for the record, they obviously are not). Why? Because "they" have been shelling cluster munitions into the city center of Donetsk. Of course, these morons have never looked past whatever the media told them to believe.

Someone will be along shortly to call you a Russian shill.
Christ theyre stanning them hard, ignoring that the ukranians have civillian militia and the military is positioning euipment and soldiers in civillian areas
There are a lot of idiots in the world who are a nudge away from violence. Whether reddit is actually representative of the real world I don't know. I hope not.
Okay, I read through a bunch of the comments. While several Redditors said the violence against POWs was understandable, nearly all agreed it was wrong, and I didn't see anyone championing it.
The first two are definitely bad. The third is only saying it could be worse, and the fourth says they deserve to be punished, though it's not clear they mean they deserve this punishment. Anyway, you're right that I missed them; I initially read only a couple of dozen comments.
Were you reading with your eyes closed, or something?
I hope the POW survive and this would lessen the punishment for the shooters.
Honestly the only thing they did wrong is film this. With the indescriminate slaughter of civilians in ukraine this is bound to happen and it's only going to get worse.
I don't care how morally objectionable it is, the civilian murders need to be given extra-judicial punishment. This is a kindness, many of them aren't going to die from those wounds.
The first one is not endorsement just hope for leniency. The other two are pretty bad, and, sure, some commenters could be said to be championing it, but they are a minority.

Way ahead of you - I've been called a Russian shill many times.
Drooling, gaping dunning-krueger insanity from top to bottom in that thread.

Surely, those posters are banned from reddit now, right?

This is literally from the first 7 comments.

The only reason he hopes that they survive is so that the attempted murderers get 'leniency'. Not exactly "I sorta understand it".
It is the vast majority that is cheering this, and the people who call it out as a war crime are usually downvoted.
That level of commentary would get some subs banned from reddit completely merely for having them present.
Of course.
