I'm saying if it does then it can easily be hidden by aggregating different types of crimes together, so if someone is all "lower crime rates" I want to see those numbers broken out by type of crime rather than total crime.
e: for example if you look at Denver, since Marijuana has been legalized for recreational use violent crime has increased while in the US on average it has decreased.
The numbers I used went to 2019 which was before cities decided to not enforce laws, so no. And it was a short journey from "legalizing marijuana lowers crime rates" to "those increases in crime rates haven't been proven to be connected to marijuana being legalized. it's been debooonked!"
Yes it has, weed is not magic, weed does not make you less violent, making it legal did not make the drug dealers toss up their hands and quit selling it because a store opened up to also sell it, because they sell more than just weed. Weed is just as addictive as cigarettes and smoking anything is damaging to your lung. Cheap and easy access to drugs is just an excuse for people to let out their inner addict and addicts are violent idiots.

Violent crime is up in almost every major metropolitan area in the country. Claiming that has anything to do with legalizing weed is ridiculous.

You still haven't answers my question. Are you saying that legalizing weed led to an increase in crime?

Maybe. There's more support for it increasing crime than for it lowering crime (excluding the crime that was reduced by making it not crime).
