It's the agreeableness trait.
Is usually portrayed in a scale of compassion-rationality
I understand agreeableness, it makes them want to fit in with the rest of what ever seems dominating, hence the NPC meme.
Compassion though? Leftists do not seem all that compassionate, other then this superficial level that is rooted in narcissism.
It's quite strange. After discovering that leftists hold fake empathy, I felt like I gained a new understanding of the world. Those 2020 riots were a real redpill.
Not only fake empathy, but also selective empathy.
Extremely empathetic towards the in-group, and completely unempathetic towards the out-group.
Fake only in the sense that they are empathetic to the in-group no matter what, based on delusions. So it's not real empathy (how the other feels) but deranged empathy (how the made up other feels under these made up conditions).
The contrast is feeling empathy as a blanket, covering everyone, with higher intensity the closer you get to the center.
I think it's connected to neurotisism. The more anxiety, the more selective the empaty. Leftists are naturally high on neurotisism, but right leaning folks aren't immune to anxiety and when the conditions are met they too become selective.
Isn't this normal outside the West? What you're describing is a survival tactic borne out of hundreds of thousands of years of human evolution. Why the fuck would we care about other tribes over the survival or wellbeing of our own? Liberalism really is a mental disorder.
They aren't compassionate, they just want to be seen as "good people".
The point is that they can be swayed by platitudes and empty statements, then they'll dismiss any counter-argument as "people being evil"
