Dude seems to change his tats a lot, but the most recent videos I found of him do seem to match the left arm quite well, 3:15 for a pretty clear view of left arm. Video quality is too poor on the torture clip to say much about the right arm other than they both have sleeves. The headwrap also covers where the distinctive neck tattoos would be.
So can't say it's him but I can't find anything to say it's not him yet.
Can't really verify any of those remotely. Maybe it's torture, maybe it's acting, that's not normal prisoner treatment though. I don't think they were claiming the gov did it, they're claiming it's one of the neonazi militias that abducted him.
I was just doing the first check to see if was even the right guy.
They make him say the slogan that the Chechen goons make constantly in their videos from Ukraine: "Akhmat Sila" (Akhmat Power) as to mock it.
Because "trained with Russians of the club Akhmat" here actually means he trained with the very same Chechen death squads now roaming around Kiev (and with their Death Battalion in the east of the country, and this is the name they chose for themselves).
Is it guilt by association? Perhaps. But surely it's not just "for training with Russians".
Of course the commentariat over here knows nothing about what is going on. All they need is one of another Russian twitter account, curiously exempt from the Russian ban on twitter, to tell them what to think. And they're like trained dogs who don't even try to think by themselves. You, at least, asked some questions. Most people here are already programmed.

Okay, so these appear to be some kind of Ukrainian personnel ordering him to repeat a Chechen slogan because they appear to know who he is, and this is to mock him for having trained with the Chechen unit, or been a member of a Chechen unit?
And when you say training, do you mean combat training or do you mean sport training?
On the issue of Chechen death squads, I want to be sure we're being crystal clear on what we are talking about. Are you saying that Chechen volunteers, affiliated with the Russian army, are engaged in execution patrols around Kiev that are assigned explicitly to execute any and all Ukranians they come into contact with?
Or, are you saying that they are a "death squad" as part of their name. In my time, I had a lot of friends who would be part of "death's head" style named units, many of whom were not even infantry. What they might call themselves is different from what they actually do.
Do we have any evidence of this besides some pictures and a guy who's covering his face in the video?

Do we even know that this is torture? Do we even know that this was done by Ukranian government agents? What are they even saying?

Fair enough.

It's all so tiresome.
