Does she realize that 'being less depressed' is an effect of the testosterone she is abusing and not of her so called 'transition'?
That poor, poor, poor girl (EDIT: the daughter, not the troon... obviously).
She was on testosterone for a month and she is already booked for surgery. This is going to end horribly wrong.
It takes about a year to realize that she is not better, all her other mental problems are still there, it was just the testosterone in her making her less depress.
The biggest problem is not the existence of people like her, mental issues are a real and increasing part of modern life. The biggest problem is that, as a society, we've moved beyond acceptance but to celebration and encouraging of mental illnesses.
I'd say it's even less than that. The testosterone isn't probably doing anything to make her feel better. It's a placebo that she thinks will make her feel better so it makes her feel better.
Its why beta boys are almost always mentally unwell, while Chads (despite their often simple minds and chaotic lives) are still just vibing through life.
Our hormones are supposed to make us well, its the modern life making them unstable that fucks people up.
I don't know much about this, but are they on testosterone for the rest of their lives?
And do the positive effects wear down over time?
