They will try to say it doesn't affect the story, but I've seen The Witcher and it definitely does affect the story.
This is no different from throwing a white king in a period piece on Zulu warriors or some shit. "Oh but he's a great actor" does not get the job done.
Exactly. Although I think a Blazing Saddles type movie where an orphaned white baby is raised by a Zulu-like tribe and becomes leader could be pretty funny
Exodus: Gods and Kings would arguably like a word… 😑
Though clearly Egyptians were not black, it’s still a very… 1960s Hollywood way of doing it…
I can, no joke, see 1950s/60s era Hollywood casting Yul Brynner as a Zulu kang, in vague brownface… It’s sort of just what they did. And some of the movies are still fantastic, nonetheless, lol…

So… Dances with Wolves/Last of the Mohicans, but in Africa..? 🤔
Something like that. I think it could be funny. But couldn’t be made now. Heck I doubt The Gods Must Be Crazy would be made today.
The show is over for me. I thought Cavill could salvage it on his own but it’s just too distracting.
It killed the Witcher for me even though I felt Geralt, Dandelion, and even Ciri to some extent were well cast.

You aren't referring to the relatively recent film starring Christan Bale as Mozes? If there's an older one I should watch it.
