Would you consider the statement "Viewer Discretion is Advised" a trigger warning?

I have heard and seen it stated before television shows with violent or mature themes.

Well, some of those warnings have gone off the wall.

For cripe's sake, I've seen the Contains Violence warning before showings of the Super Dave Osborne Show. Yeah, Super Dave, the World's Greatest Stuntman. The last great variety show, which always ended in a "stunt". It was like watching a live action Wile E. Coyote cartoon. Of course there's fucking "violence"! DUH!

Honestly at this point I really only consider the term "trigger warning" a trigger warning. If they co-opt some more phrases then I may change my opinion.
