Anyone who was around when half-KiA went full retard probably remembers that following their decision to ignore the community vote and the subsequent reaction (and bans), the jannies went largely radio silent for the few following days. Trudeau is in good company.
We might like to think he's just running away (and he is) but I don't doubt for a second that this is a calculated tactic to simply wait the convoy out. It's difficult to maintain momentum for such a movement day after day.
Of course, it could always backfire and make Trudeau look like he's doing nothing as the protest drags out. I can only hope those truckers are well prepared for this last a while.
The tricky part is that the convoy is stuck in Terrace Bay east of Thunder Bay on a shitty stretch of highway with terrible infrastructure.
The TransCanada highway for the hundreds of kms from Thunder Bay to Sault Ste Marie is literally a single lane undivided highway through the wilderness with hardly any detours or population along the route.
Terrace Bay does have a kickass Italian restaurant though.
Oh wait, that fat fuck Doug Ford outlawed that too.
Triple-vaccinated, not sick, feels fine, tests negative for the COVID virus, conveniently retreats home for the duration of a large protest in Ottawa against his policies
This is going to be fun to watch. If they're going to start a game of "let's see who can shut down the most roads" I have a feeling thousands of truck drivers are going to win.
The roads are bare and salted ahead of the Freedom Convoy, but the police are still suggesting it splits in two (I recorded a conversation with them). We are driving an hour ahead of it to scope out the conditions. Why is this highway closed?
Due to highway 17 still being closed since last night, it might take the #FreedomConvoy2022 12 hours to get to Sault Ste. Marie rather than 6 hours. There is uncertainty on the ground. Will update once the convoy arrives to the blockade.
I drove from Ottawa to Cobourg today (on the 401) and on nearly every bridge I passed by there were people on it cheering on the truckers. A lot of the bridges were actually packed with people, and people were also parked on the side of the 401 cheering them on.
This has widespread support in the province. I know this is hearsay, but it's what I saw with my own eyes.
I was genuinely surprised how many people were out because the weather turned kind of shit later in the afternoon.

GoFundMe is already at 6mil.
I'll drop another $100 for each week they drag this out.
To be fair, if anyone knows logistics, I'd hope it would be truckers

Here's the highway so dangerous it has to be closed down: https://twitter.com/TheRealKeean/status/1486747863061250052

I drove from Bowmanville to Whitby and saw the same thing.
