I think I prefer the original, WITH the headdress. Far more authentic and “legit”…
2009 predates “wokeness”, of course, but even that is far too “PC”, IMO…
If you don’t like the fact that the Chiefs’ entire identity is based around Native American (Indian) imaginary, then you can suck a fat one, and go support the fucking New York Jets or something. Fuck… 🤦🏻♂️
Because war ponies and war paint and headdresses go against the narrative that injuns were nothing but a bunch of lotus-eating hippies who just sat around and spewed wisdom until the white man showed up.
More like Thoreau and Rosseau and those fucking faggots, and injuns HAVE picked up on that narrative (and the garbage about how "in tune" with nature they are, and how they NEVER kill more than they need - BULLSHIT .. when you live hand to mouth, you don't waste. But buffalo jumps are wasteful, and SO WAS THE FUR TRADE. Also, you know who doesn't waste? The modern meat industry, as much as it can help it.) They'll use that shit when it's politically useful.
Ah, the River Raisin incident. Yep, that kind of got swept universally under the rug.
The injuns refused to fight unless they were allowed to take scalps, and kill whomever they fucking pleased, because sparing women and children actually IS a white people thing.
3rd time posting due to edits and such because immediate edits on this site are shite!

Based on what? The earliest I can think of encountering "Person of colour" is from a 2001 movie called "Crazy/Beautiful" with Kirsten Dunst. This stuff has been around for decades.
Shitty Russian link that has the entire movie online, jump to 35:04 to where Dunst describes the male lead as "A person of colour in his daughter's bed?" when discussing things as her father is outside the window in the garden: https://ok.ru/video/235193436721?fromTime=2100
Managed to work out a direct link to the timestamp mentioned.

PC culture and wokeness ruins everything…

Which is an entirely white woman concept.
The native Americans themselves are quite proud of their martial history, just look at FSU

And everyone got bamboozled by Grey Owl.
French and Indian War also, no?
Literally the plot of The Last of the Mohicans!! From the, uhh, English perspective, though, in that case, because it predates 1776, naturally…
Good movie. Less good book, I hear. 🤷🏻♂️
Have it. Haven’t managed to actually read it, tho, yet, which I regret…
But yeh, if you haven’t seen it, the movie is good, if a little… Dense, initially!
I guess you could argue Dances With Wolves, also (Civil War era), although that, admittedly, does dip into “noble savage” territory quite a bit, so…
Also Costner. Peak Costner. 🤦🏻♂️
