This just sounds gross, even before they bring the pedos in there. I'm not a very touchy-feely person though. The weirdo adults can do whatever, but I feel bad for the kids that even if they don't all end up molested will grow up to think something like this is normal.
At this event we have the chance to normalize touch and intimacy with clear boundaries; this is a space for respectful, consent-based touch. We allow ourselves to be seen. We have fun. We get our touch needs met.
I always thought it was a guy thing, we do not like a lot of touching or holding. When I'm in bad mood I would rather build something, preferably something that involved some had physical work, not hugging.
I'm sure that's part of it compared to women especially. Although I've always been a bit of an outlier on top of that even going back to when I was a little kid. I've got a little (female) cousin now that's the same way, so we get to be the pair of family weirdos now. I think in a lot of ways it's more of being introvert types in a noisy extroverted family. I'm with you though if I'm in a bad mood I need to be doing something constructive, not hugging.
