People want to know why, for example, non-binary Filipinos concerned about a lack of LGBT terms in Tagalog is an editorial priority for the CBC, when local issues of broad concern go unreported. Or why our pop culture radio show’s coverage of the Dave Chappelle Netflix special failed to include any of the legions of fans, or comics, that did not find it offensive. Or why, exactly, taxpayers should be funding articles that scold Canadians for using words such as “brainstorm” and “lame.”
When I started at the national public broadcaster in 2013, the network produced some of the best journalism in the country.
FACT CHECK: False on that one, CBC has been propagandist shit for decades. In 2000 their version of "The Daily Show", "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", did a bit mocking conservative leader Stockwell Day for that would allow a national vote on any issue, if three per cent of the electorate, or about 350,000 people, signed a petition. So Rick Mercer started a joke petition calling for a vote on having Day change his 1st name to "Doris" to mock him. Years later, UK PM Tony Blair's top aide released a book mentioning that the Liberal PM at that time had gotten Mercer to do it. That made almost no headlines.
The problem with her resignation post is that she outlines all of the CRT editorial slants and shady journalistic practices at CBC that she witnessed between 2013 and now that every Canadian has been well aware of for some time, but provides no insight on WHO pushed the change, HOW and WHY?
CBC has always had a Liberal and a left-wing bias, but like everything since 2015, the CRT and woke slant has went off the rails and alienated their traditional base of viewers and listeners, particularly CBC Radio.
CBC Radio has a monopoly in most radio markets across the country being the only English talk radio option outside of the major cities. Their only real competition outside of major metropolitan cities are podunk country music and variety stations along with corporate affiliate clones playing easy listening and Top 40.
I don't know a single traditional listener of old CBC that still tunes in, particularly retirees. The perpetual victim culture and the constant focus on LGBT/BLM/Aboriginal focused stories drove everyone I knew away. CBC Radio used to be a staple on kitchen counters, workshops, car trips and cottage docks.
OP's substack doesn't touch on at all who specifically is pushing the editorial change and who their new demographic is supposed to be.
You meant to say far-right extremist and possible antivaxxer Tara Henley. When someone leaves the cult they become persona non-grata. If you must speak of them, do not forget the pejoratives.
It used to be that I was the one furthest to the left in any newsroom, occasionally causing strain in story meetings with my views on issues like the housing crisis. I am now easily the most conservative, frequently sparking tension by questioning identity politics. This happened in the span of about 18 months. My own politics did not change.
Oh look, another far leftist who is upset that she's no longer on the far left. Soon to join whatever you Leafs call your "conservative" party to go on the "why I left the left" speaking grift, no doubt.
We were standing at the end of history: true liberalism was finally within our grasp. Then those bastards over there took it too far
- Every far leftist of their generation, to the far leftists of the next generation

Did anything ever happen with the guy that was trying to file a complaint against the CBC over their coverage of Gamergate?
