See this on Frog Twitter as well. I don't necessarily think it's a "good place for things to be". Lot of these guys before Trump were Cruz or Rubio (or Bernie) supporters and want DeSantis* to run in 2024. Basically want to go back to the way things were before Trump. They certainly don't want some outsider to be elected "Hatchet Man of DC" to disband every Executive Branch office and fire every Executive Branch bureaucrat like would be necessary to truly "drain the swamp"
Eg. Matt Walsh who went on tirades in 2015/2016 about how racist and sexist Trump was and how he wanted to "pretend it all never happened". Yes you can change your mind on such things, but if he ever wrote a series of "I was wrong in 2015/2016 and here's why racism and sexism is actually good" articles I've never seen them.
* DeSantis has shown himself to be have some understanding of the problem and is effective at controlling the Florida machine, but why would anyone believe he would be more effective than Trump in DC on the things Trump wasn't able to do? The country would be better served as him effectively being lifetime Governor of Florida so there is at least one bastion of relative sanity left in this country.
Why should DeSantis leave a position where he is effective for a position where he is likely to be ineffective? Why would any of the DC bureaucracies be more willing to help him eg. build a border wall than they were for Trump?
They'll just do what they did with Trump: ignore him whenever he "ordered" them to do something they didn't want to do. With so many departments and offices ignoring and deceiving him it's impossible to keep track of all of them.
Trump is a Republican. The party is trotskyite scum. They exist to conserve progressive gains and spread them across the world. People need to get over this idea that there exists any desire to oppose progressivism within the GOP. Republicucks, Girondins, and Mensheviks are worse than Demonrats, Montagnards and Bolsheviks.

They'll most likely try the impeachment circus again.
