No, "Mr Big" was a nickname/inference about how he was a "big catch" because he was rich and Carrie was literally a liberal arts/literature major whose job was writing a shitty blog/column yet somehow affording to live in New York and socializing however many times a week with her 3 friends and bald, bespectacled gay tagalong.
It's kinda funny that they didn't give him a name in the show. Carrie is Carrie Bradshaw. He's Mr. Big with no name beyond that.
