You tried saying the tech doesn't exist, it does. Modern cars are all being fitted with computers that control engine functionality. Eventually won't be able to get a car that doesn't have the tech available.
You don't understand how cars are made or even mass production in general. I can pretty much guarantee you those components are in every car made with that option. It's substantially cheaper to make these modules all the same, and then have the option of "activating" it. If they had to make completely different modules for every model it could easily double or triple the costs of the components.
Newer EVs are built with OTA updates that can directly affect the powertrain performance (including battery usage). Ergo, it's entirely possible to remotely disable any compatible EV with an OTA update.
No it won't.
People said the same tinfoil bullshit about contactless cards and 4G.
They could disable your car with 4G, or fucking radio waves if they installed the correct hardware.
On Star has had remote deactivation for years. They can shut your car off if it's been stolen and the cops are chasing it.
So don't fit an On Star system and don't buy a car with one.

Having it voluntarily fitted is different to some nefarious scheme.

OnStar is literally only present on GM (female CEO) crapboxes.
