You tried saying the tech doesn't exist, it does. Modern cars are all being fitted with computers that control engine functionality. Eventually won't be able to get a car that doesn't have the tech available.
Did people who bought teslas have it voluntarily fitted when it came from the factory and they can, and have, cut people's access off to super chargers based on social media posts?
You don't understand how cars are made or even mass production in general. I can pretty much guarantee you those components are in every car made with that option. It's substantially cheaper to make these modules all the same, and then have the option of "activating" it. If they had to make completely different modules for every model it could easily double or triple the costs of the components.
Newer EVs are built with OTA updates that can directly affect the powertrain performance (including battery usage). Ergo, it's entirely possible to remotely disable any compatible EV with an OTA update.
So don't fit an On Star system and don't buy a car with one.

Having it voluntarily fitted is different to some nefarious scheme.

Elon did that? Source?
And buying a Tesla is accepting Elon's whims, based on the fact it's less like a car and more his cult of personality on wheels.

OnStar is literally only present on GM (female CEO) crapboxes.
