Last time I was there I ran into a migrant working a coffee shop at a train station that couldn't manage to take my order in English or Finnish. I wanted some coffee and a pastry, that's it. How the hell did they manage employment. I don't necessarily speak Finnish, but I can order food and drink just fine. Finns don't want to talk about your life they just take your order. It's like 5 words and the muzzie couldn't manage it.
That’s the same IN AUSTRALIA, where English is the only real “main language”, but in this case it’s with Chinese international students…
That literally happens to me around… Once a month. Even in the fucking domestic airport. In a (non-major) city that is like… 90+% white. It is incredibly, incredibly frustrating. Even more so when they pretend to understand you, but then answer in a way that makes it very clear that they didn’t actually understand a word. That’s what these people want, though. Like, exactly that situation… 😒
I hear cities near the southern border of Texas are like that. English is treated as a second language, and if you're white then you're treated like a second class citizen.
