It's sad nobody can see past the length of a tweet and it makes it so no actual communication can be done: I make points often in my messages and nobody reads them and just say 'Trash' without knowing what they are talking about.
It is as if I went to a Taco Belli restaurant and just said to the manager 'Burrito sucks' and he says 'Too bad' and I leave. Neither will get me a better taco experience compared to if I informed him/her the dirty kitchen he CAN fix which will improve morality
tl;dr?
This is the exact joke I was going to post :')
the early worm gets the bird
Your fault bud. You snooze you lose. Your part of the problem.
I'm a little torn.
Yes, attention spans are tiny these days. BUT, there's a skill to be honed in mastering brevity + getting to the point.
You need to demand attention and then follow through on the back end once you've captured it. In your example, say 'This burrito sucks' and SHOW him why. If it's bad, it'll get his attention and you can fill in the details.
Just a reality of this world of ours.
You have a fair point, but OP is right. The attention span of modern people is much lower than what it used to be, and it's getting worse. There are some topics that can't be brief, and some that must be long and labored to properly explain. That doesn't mean they're wrong, but it certainly means fewer people will read about complex things. That isn't the fault of the writer, it falls on the reader. Even an extremely condensed well written text would be considered "TLDR" by idiots, which brings up a necessary question: why should idiots and the lowest common denominator be catered to?
And that's how our media gets away with misleading headlines while burying the truth at the bottom or in the middle of an article.
There is something to be said for brevity, but the truth cannot be lost or corrupted in the process.
Making a point and linking to an article with more info is common on twitter, along with linking to third party services and using images containing an explanation.
Its cmn 2 subtract & altr wrds like dis 2 crm long sentnces.
We have been carefully educated to equal quick info with good info. There are many factors to that topic, the loss of the classical "Reader", the rise of short burst entertainment and dopamine filled reward systems like TikTok or Twitter, old school television and VOD services.
Many people aren't educated enough to use media to their advantages and becoming victims instead of digital nomads. The sad thing is, that people are eager to get treated like idiots.
There are plenty of longform treatises and 10+minute long thinkies by vain, bloviating cowards in love with the sound of their own voice and face that could have been a hell of a lot shorter than they are.
I think there will always be avenues for longer content, but you have to keep in mind what twitter is for. It's not for long content. It never was, so you really shouldn't have expectations people read through entire tweet threads. If you want good reception and user interactivity your tweets need to be any combination of: short, witty and aggressive.
If you want to talk about something that can't be done in 140 characters, or have something you want to link, put the link in and make an eye-catching headline that piques the viewers interest. The object of the tweet is purely to convince the viewer that the content is important or interesting enough that it is worth their valuable time to spend reading it instead of reading other tweets or doing something else just as important. Look at the reddit thread titles and see which do well and which don't. Same for tweets. It doesn't seem like it at first glance but there's definitely an art that goes into making things eye catching.
And this isn't even getting into improving follower count, which does matter if you want to make people put more stock into your tweets. And of course don't have an anime or other sort of cartoon profile pic.
*I don't bother with twitter anymore so maybe I'm wrong. Feel free to correct me, everyone. This is just general info I've picked up from different places from years of shitposting, reading about psychology, persuasion, etc.
Have you ever EVEN SEEN how fast a YT Chatbox goes? How do they keep up it's humanly impossible though for a bot it's their hunting grounds!
Well let's start here then.
What solutions do you see going forward for our society? How can we turn back from the regressive devolutionary path we are on and return back to another golden age for our country?
Remove birthright citizenship for anyone who didn't have two parents who are citizens. Require any children born to couples of which one is a citizen to be adopted by the citizen to acquire citizenship status.
Limit voting to English speaking net taxpayers with special exemptions to those requirements on a case-by-case basis for veterans, firefighters, emts, and law enforcement.
Require all senators and reps to put their assets in a blind trusts like the president does now. Pass a law that any elected official who financially benefits from non-public knowledge he is privy to is committing treason.
Pass a law that says all increases of a a senator or rep's net worth that would be greater than his previous congressional salary are taxed at 100% for 10 years after leaving office. So no enriching himself with book deals, speaking fees, consulting fees, etc.
Spend federal money to create museums of the failures of communism in every major population center. Require public school kids to visit at least once in elementary school and once in high school.
Require reversible surgical sterilization for anyone who chooses an abortion except in the case of a documented non-viable pregnancy, this includes the father. Reversing the sterilization would require court approval of the fitness of the individual to be a parent.
Remove public healthcare financing eligibility from anyone who got AIDS through his own degenerate behavior.
Declare "Wokeism" to be a religion. Remove all symbols of it from public spaces.
Make any college or university that has gender/race/faggot studies departments ineligible for any federal or state money including federal education grants and federally subsidized student loans.
Make it illegal to take race into account in any publicly funded decision making.
Make calling someone racist in a public forum an actionable tort.
Make saying, in public forum, that an individual should get fired an actionable tort.
Make gathering in a mob outside of someone's private home or business for the purposes of intimidation a felony.
A lot more but this is enough for now.
Make anyone who claims to be transgender a registered sex offender.
Make anyone receiving public assistance ineligible to vote while receiving it.
Criminalize abortion. Charge anyone who gets or performs one with 1st degree murder.
But it's easier for Republicans to shrug their shoulders and get 'defeated' by the left.
Day of the rope. Find the race traitors who enabled these communists and hang them.
I acknowledge that no more thought went into these suggestions than I cared to expend in amount of time it took to type them. So I expect there is at least some level of retardation.
Put Center of Society BACK to the Christian God. Our society works less and less without that.
Everybody though wants to jump off the same cliff against Christian morale values. They are all diving head first to be the first to reach the bottom that doesn't exist.
