Nah it was mostly about civilian contractors that was secretly owned by the same people dictating whether should be at war making bank off of ripping off tax payers. Just one example most don’t know but the army has a speciality for every careee path in the world IE nurses, doctors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters and even banker like jobs where soldiers specialties is handling finance. I did not know thus when I went in in 2007. I was trained as a carpenter and masonry specialist. Went to a 9 week training school in Gulfport missisispi and busted my ass even was the honor graduate in 2 classes of soldiers. Difference was I was a carpenter before I went in where most are not. They even told us at one point at Gulfport that tax payers pays over 100k per soldier to go through that training there. We deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 and I thoutht alright this is going to be badass. We are going to be building the battlefield which was our motto literally lol We get there and be damn if civilians who never even went to boot camp is not there doing all the carpentry work that we were trained to do. Meanwhile we are pulling guard duty outside the FOB and even tho we had plenty of time to do what they were doing they would not let us do it. Eventually I got to talking to a few of these “civilian contractors” Like how much they make, benefits, vacations per year etc etc. man in my position who wearing civilian clothes watching the late show in his air conditioner hut is get this….over 100k per year tax free. Guess how much I was making? 30k and having to put up with 10 times more bullshit including wearing Kevlar gear carrying a rifle being a target etc etc. also they got 3 vacations per year and medical coverage as well. Also not to mention the army also has Cooks which most do know about. On the larger fobs it’s all HALIBURTON KBR contracts cooking and serving food. The fucking guy scooping ice cream is making close to 100k a year and this was in 08-09. So if uou can put 2 and 2 togethe it’s not that hard. This was a huge scam to drain as much tax dollars as possible America’s sons and daughters lives all for profiteering
In short we had the time the tools and capability to do any and all things civilian carpenters was doing and every case I seen I was way more knowledgeable In that trade but they preferred the civilian so HALIBURTON KBR could rip off tax payers while pretending to be virtuous
The US has been doing shit like this since the civil war (technology willing). The nation is a world champion in bullying vastly outgunned people...and losing.
