This is something that strategists will study for decades. Of all the minority groups, why this one and not something like albinos or archery enthusiasts or people with dwarfism?
The same way 13% of the population managed to get the other 87% to worship them like gods in a polytheistic religion. They realized that violence works. Both populations have zero qualms with burning buildings and murdering those who resist. They rule through fear. Violence will always, always get what you want if the local government either allows or endorses it.
I'm not encouraging getting what you want through violence, by the way. Violence shouldn't be the answer. But as long as the establishment remains cucked, it is. The solution isn't to join in the violence, but to destroy the establishment and replace it with a governing body that responds to terrorism the way they ought to.

They didn't need to do any convincing imo. Companies have been pandering to gays and minorities for decades now, and they really ramped it up after Trump got elected.
They were never going to just leave it at that. It was no longer special or unique. They needed a new group to pander to and transgenders were the logical choice.
I never gave a fuck about trans until recently. In the 90s there was a M2W trans person at the place I used to get my hair cut at. In the early 2000s I had a W2M trans co-worker. Never cared about either of them. I treated them like I treated everyone else.
Now I fucking hate them. They are one of the most privileged groups now. Nobody is allowed to say anything bad about them (Dave Chappelle is right, btw). Businesses have had to change policies for them. Major corporations pander to them. They are over-represented (relative to their actual demographics) in popular media.
Remember there is no culture war it's just an alt-right conspiracy theory.
