Cognitive Dissonance comes standard with being a lefty.
It isnt cognitive dissonance. They belive themselves to be absolute good and their enemies to be perfectly evil.
Therefore anything bad that happens to them is an injustice and anything bad that happens to their enemies is deserved.
They truly believe they are on the "right side of history" and they believe that they are somehow in power. I've heard real life friends saying stuff like they do not mind the government monitoring every aspect of their lives because they have nothing to hide.
They can't get to a point to admit that they are not all that perfect.
I started dropping people out of my life once they unironically used the phrase, "the right side of history."
That's some Orwellian Newspeak shit that creates a simplistic black and white thinking that will allow for some monstrous shit to occur....because people in the present now have the magic ability to determine what will be deemed "right" in the future.

That's why they're so dangerous. They will happily turn a blind eye to abusive fuckery when it suits them, completely ignorant to the fact that by condoning it they are opening that door to be used against them in the future.
But leftists literally can't fathom the concept of consequences and the future because they are stupid. That's what makes them so dangerous, they are incredibly easy to weaponize against the rest of us.
You mean like when that trans boy anally raped and then forcibly sodomized that girl afterwards in a woman's bathroom last spring in a high school, and her dad got arrested when he showed up at a school board meeting to complain, and the school board did everything to deny anything happened and covered it up and called anyone who commented on it transphobic, and then that same student raped another girl in a different bathroom this fall and then was found guilty of raping the first girl, and now all of the news outlets refer to him as "a boy wearing a skirt" instead of trans?

It’s more that they only value power. They frame it in moral terms because they know how powerful morality is, but they are too cynical to truly believe in it.
Yes most criminals believe they were just misunderstood, most murderers believe themselves to be justified, most rapists say "She was asking for it" and all tyrants believe they are just bringing law and order.
The vast majority of bad people believe they are right in what they are doing.

It's the simple fact that these people do not operate on principles, they operate on power. If it empowers them, it's good. If it disempowers them, it's bad. That is how they operate. If black people started doing well in schools, running successful businesses, and voting republican tomorrow, their response would not be 'at last, we are in a post-racial society', but rather 'I fucking hate entitled niggers'.

They have no real awareness of what they are doing, and they do not have the slightest curiosity to find out.
They can't even use the word "morality" because they know what they do is evil.
So they use words like "equity" "fairness" "equality" and "justice."
All of these things, including "fairness" (itself, like all of their replacements for actual moral framework) are purely subjective and relative.
It's immoral to abandon your children, cheat on your wife, and commit crime. But through their subjective prism, they can claim it was due to inequality (not immorality, mind you) that compelled that person to act that way.
This is how they slipped through with gay culture and codifying it into laws: it may be immoral, but they argue that it's UNEQUAL that straights get their own customs that have been hard-wired to every society ever.
First step on that slippery slope and now we're tearing down statues, seriously discussing reparations, and have reconfigured society to cater to the most mentally deranged outsider weirdos within it. Because to do otherwise would be inequality and we need to give them equity in fairness for justice.
And, as someone else said, they view themselves as good and people they disagree with as evil.
Ends always justify the means when you think your ends are morally good.

See there was study or some such, found that something like 80% of liberals amid to having a diagnosed mental disorder. Now we all know not everybody gets diagnosed, or will admit these things.. So its pretty safe to assume that 80% is also 20% that are not reporting voluntarily for a survey.
Thus by simple logical deduction, all liberals likely have mental disorders. Its then no unreasonable to assume that its a REQUIREMENT to be insane to be a liberal.
