Used to be kids would build their own imagined stuff with highly versatile building blocks. Now Legos are basically just licensed prefab model kits with a branded lo-fi aesthetic.
and in-between they had a brief stint of "here's a shitload of fiddly-little-bastard parts and a detailed assembly manual, for when you finally get tired of trying to replicate the box-art without instructions."
I'm pretty sure I've seen most of the pieces used in that set in others. For example the "bottle" is composed of pieces used as windows/walls. I actually bought this set for my sister and while I think I built the less structurally stable parts, she put in a fair bit of thee work. That said I do agree that this set clearly isn't really intended to be deconstructed.
Those look like the worst legos ever. Good luck re-using those bricks in literally any other build except a bottle/stand.

Todays lego aren't made for children. It's about as fun as assembling Ikea furniture. Instead they are made for overgrown manbabies and wannabe-nerds.
Yup, exactly my point.
Yeah, at least if all we could think of doing was making some shitty castle, at least it was our shitty castle.
Lego stopped pushing kits for imaginative building a long time ago. Because once you have them, you don't buy more.
Now they only sell "build it yourself" models that are too expensive to let children play with.

Those were, at least, reuseable parts.
