I actually put a lot of this on the fear tactics working. Particularly in places that never let up on the reigns much. I mean we all saw how easily compliant people were. Not just the total soy groups either. The list of people I know who leaned right wing but went along either without complaint or even agreed with the "safety" policy is a long one.
I think in my area it's lightened up a lot because things got very close to normal and the bodies didn't pile up. Lots of people caught it, survived, and realized it was overblown. But I'm in an area where that normalcy was allowed to happen.
In municipal elections the person is more important than his party.
I live in a suburb that is like 90% communist and we had mayor with the ideas of Bolsonaro for 20 years because he was so fucking good.
When was the last time we won?
2016
to return to those days...
It's no coincidence the same happened in Germany
Is left/right the same in europe as it is in the us? Like Emmanuel Macron was part of the socialist party and now some sort of center party - he publicly dissed US export of things like "intersectionality" as screwing up societies, especially french society.
I don't know the exact specifics of what "center left" means in rome.
The left in Italy are vax pushing lunatics.
