And it's already bothering some:

Michel Barnier, the EU’s former chief Brexit negotiator who is seeking the nomination of France’s Les Républicains (Republican) party for next April’s presidential elections, has said that the right-wing polemicist Eric Zemmour should not be permitted to similarly seek the nomination of the centre-right party.

Asked in an interview with the New Statesman whether Zemmour’s politics are compatible with the Republican Party’s, Barnier said: “I have nothing to do with Zemmour. We do not have the same feelings, convictions or history.” Pressed on whether Zemmour should be permitted to run for the Republican nomination, Barnier answered: “no way”.

I'm not big with this but does this mean Macron wins? 8% is a big lead and I assume they are growing?

It's a poll for the first round. The top two candidates move to the second round, and the one who gets the most wins. Macron is certainly the favorite & running in front of Le Pen, which is fairly expected.

Nah fuhgeddaboudit - It’s just a whole lot more theatre bullshit. Polls and elections...

People still genuinely believe those in charge get together every couple of years and let us have an actual say in whether or not the masters get to keep their power? The strange little man who is booed, heckled, sometimes even outright assaulted when he walks among the people, the loathed man who the people have been outright marching and protesting against for literally years now, is somehow still 8% ahead of everyone else?!

They do a similar thing here in NZ. Release a poll saying our PM has taken a HUGE dip in the polls, but when you read it she’s on 40% and the next highest candidate is on 8%.

The numbers are just there to deflate and defeat you, and to conceal that fact that the outcome was already determined months ago behind closed doors.

The golden rule: if you didn't pay for it, you're the product.

The polls are shared with the public because the goal is to manipulate them.

It's pointless. The vast majority in France hate him, like they hate Le Pen. And these 2 aren't even radical in the slightest. That country is long dead.
