Women are often erroneously considered the more empathetic sex, but they're far more likely to have an almost complete lack of empathy, at least initially. That has a tendency to change once they have children. That's why people who write this kind of thing are almost always cool wine aunts. They never had kids and never fell in love, and as such they never developed empathy.
