Ah, the feminist infested shithole that is Spain with yet another hot take.
Honestly, kid sounds like he's just given up on life and the game keeps him from ending it.
I blame women's society, they blame the game, of course. God forbid they admit being pieces of shit. That'll never fucking happen. To admit that the changes they pushed for demoralized kids, much less to admit it was deliberate to raise OnlyFans revenue?
Also, having played for 16 seasons (S3 to the current C2S8), the time gates for items really aren't that hard. There was one season they made mistakes, Chapter 2 Season 2 with the gold agent skins. That was a fucking grind. I didn't manage it, even sharing the account with a friend.
I think this is just the typical acts of a feminist nation. The slaves cannot have anything to dump money or time into that isn't helping their machine. If you're buying Fortnite skins, you aren't saving up for your parasite wife/girlfriend to take it all.

I definitely think there's more to the story there. Apparently the minor had a relative die and that had something to do with it, but clearly the parent(s) messed up somewhere along the way. I just can't imagine how gaming can apparently get so bad that it warrants hospitalization. It's framed like they were trying to get the kid clean from heroin ffs.
I feel like the kid didn't really like their parents, and whoever died was far closer to them.
They gravitated towards the game because it was something to take their mind off it. They probably didn't enjoy being at school much, they probably didn't have a good social life. Remember that school is all online now, so that probably isn't much good for them either.
The doctors here should be stripped of their licenses, because they didn't act to help the kid, they just acted to give the feminist propaganda media a nice headline to use. The kid just needed a return to normality, this is more likely due to Covid policy exacerbating the issues they already had than any "addictive properties" the game supposedly has.
But blaming themselves is not what feminists do, so we get a hitpiece on a company they couldn't get their hands on via Google and are now extremely asshurt about.
The symptoms that have led to the decision to hospitalize the patient for two months, a minor adolescent with a serious behavioral addiction to the Fortnite video game, included isolation at home, rejection of social interactions with refusal to go to health services, persistent personal inflexibility, scarce interest in their environment and very selective in their tastes and with restrictive activities.
If it wasn't for the mention of death of a relative I'd put it to undiagnosed autism. But then again...
In the case of Fortnite two aspects of its addictive potential stand out: the imposition of deadlines to achieve the challenges of each season and not lose progress, and access to live broadcast platforms that show people playing while they comment on their strategies.
Humor of the title aside, these online games have addiction down to a science. In my personal experience you really see it in gacha games with the constant IV drip of items, super special currency to get new weapons and characters, flashy lights and sound when you "achieve" something. I definitely played games to an unhealthy degree growing up. Couldn't imagine how bad it is for kids who aren't getting the guidance and direction they need from their parents today.
X-post from Kia1. El País is a Spanish-based newspaper.
Yup it's insane. Like I checked out "Raid Shadow Leyends" due to all the memes, and dude it's insane. The game is tailor made for addicts. Everything "rewards" you and it has no end. It even has a timer thing for items, so you need to constantly check it during the day to "maximize" your gains. If I was younger I would have been all over that.
Correction: Just another clinical case of a minor hospitalized for having shitty parents.
There's probably so much more to this story that's not being told in order to promulgate their stupid agenda and unmitigated hate for anything they can't gain full control over. I'm perfectly fine with shitting all over consumerism — I do it all the time — but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Like most things in life, moderation is key. If a child is addicted to a glowing screen, that's not the child's fault; it's the parent's fault. Let's not pretend otherwise either.
What likely happens in these situation is that the parents are too involved in doing whatever it is they want to do and the easiest way to keep their child the hell out of their hair is to bestow upon them a glowing screen that can keep their attention perpetually. Then, when the child begins to show signs of what basically amounts to brainwashing or addiction, these same stupid assholes throw their hands up in the air and say, "how can that make such games/movies/social medias/etc." in order to completely absolve themselves. No, you spoiled assholes. It's not the fault of those things, it's your own fault for being such self-obsessed parents who let their children be raised by a glowing screen to begin with. Take come responsibility for your actions, shitheads.
Big Brother wasn't something imposed upon The People from on high. Big Brother is The People. Society is the way it is because the majority of The People were fine with it BEING that way!

parasitewife/girlfriend to take it all. Here's a video of someone unlocking everything in a single day. You get 3/4 months to finish a season.
Edit : Literally forgot what season it was. We're in Chapter 2, Season 8, not 7.

Shamlessly pasting my comment from plebbit Kia2 🤣

The thing I think people miss about 1984 is this:
Big Brother wasn't something imposed upon The People from on high. Big Brother is The People. Society is the way it is because the majority of The People were fine with it BEING that way!
Betting it’s a male whose only escape from constant abuse from vindictive teenagers is gaming.
It's Spain, so whatever you bet, I'll double it.
IIRC, they teach feminist propaganda like the wage gap and toxic masculinity in school there.
