How woke is it?
I was not a fan of Kingmaker, partly because dialogue was trash and partly because of SJW/ Feminism aspects that made my eye roll but it was not as woke as I would have expected from a pathfinder game.

I’ve played a little bit as I thought the amount of classes is a pretty novel concept. First quest has you rescue 3 women (ones state she is a lesbian.) Find out after rescuing them that their lover is an equivalent of a DM PC for a few fights before everyone gets cooked. Biggest complaint is the mass amounts of women party members at the beginning of the game. Outside of that, all the class descriptions have female pronouns but so far, nothing else really sticking out. I’ll keep playing and update.
And yet games like Hyperdimension Neptunia are great. What is it with games with mass amounts of women party members at the beginning of the game being a good thing in the East, but a bad thing in the West? It's like red fruit or something, evolving to be a warning in some places but a greeting in others.
Thank you. So far seems bad, not going to lie.
Class descriptions having female pronouns is also present in the p&p rpg. So the'`re true to their roots.
Can you boot out any party member, or are you stuck with some of them?
You can never use them or even kick them from the party permanently with some one on one talking. There are even instances that you can piss them hard enough to attack you. Within the tutorial section, you choose between two archer types and one will run away due to choices.
From the looks of it, there might be a good selection but I’m too early on to tell the total number of companions.
Haven't looked at it myself yet. But Arch did a review of it and in his opinion it seems pretty good. And he's usually good at pointing out Wokeness and didn't comment on much.
Kingmaker was not very woke but still had a lot of feminism, my diversity racial and sexual orientation.
From companions alone it looks like it is about the same.
In 2014 I would not have bothered but today my threshold is a lot lower.
