I do know that when Tumblr banned porn in 2018 Newgrounds tried to attract NSFW illustrators and their fans. I could definitely see that changing the culture of the site given the kind of people who used (and use) Tumblr, and I don't doubt some of them could have wormed their way into staff positions.
The political bans are assumed, I have not heard any reports though I assume people may have gotten threatened/banned for accurately criticizing BLM for being a hate movement with terrorist ties.
