There's nothing verifiable on either end of this story, but the 'drone strike hit innocent American interpreter and family' angle reeks of propaganda to me.
The guy was allegedly hit by a rocket and miraculously his body is intact and his face is untouched and identifiable, then there's some more video of unidentifiable black blobs who were also allegedly hit by the same attack.

But aside from massaging my own biases there's nothing there that says that version of events is any more true than the alternative explanation. What's the proof the Taliban/Isis didn't just find an American sympathizer, murder him and his entire family, then cart their corpses around to parade around in some sick theater to build support. Islamist extremists have been doing exact kind of shit that for years in Syria already.
I think they were all just in the house nearby and the dudes in the car got obliterated. These vests of theirs are serious gadgets, one killed 100+ (200+ apparently) when ripped through a crowd. According to the official story at least, they had multiple transported in the car.
There was no other way to do this, the airport is INSIDE the city, and its a city of 4+ million. Theoretically you could wait and hit them after they drove to near their target and were distributing the vests before the attack to take out the entire cell, but who knows how much collateral this would do in who knows what location.
And asking the Taliban (and that means Haqqanis' practically-AQ terrorists specifically, because they're in charge there) to do it would be obviously ludicrous.
Speaking of which, I think their method was to wear a full burqa (you know the one, with eyes slit covered too) enabling them to wear a SUPER THICC vest underneath. This is how I would do it, too.
They also fired 5 rockets but these got shot down by a defense system.

I'm not sure I care if there's "additional context" to any of these incidents. After the constant string of colossal fuck-ups from Bidens' admin(handlers), they need to do better than "damage control" for smaller fuck-ups.
There is very little they can do to redeem themselves after this mess. They deserve every bit of blow-back from this, even if they weren't "at fault", since they caused this mess in the 1st place by pulling out the military before civilians.
