Yes. Compound muscle group lifts with heavy weight is where the functional strength power is at. Squats, dead lifts, overhead press, etc
I'm a scrawny bastard. Took up lifting -- for the first time in my life -- in my mid-30s.
The day I put up 1 rep OHP @ 135 lbs was mindblowingly awesome.
My other goal is to bench 225, but not sure I will get there.
You're doing a damn sight better than I am then. 135 sounds completely out of reach right now.
