The first Dead Space is one of my all time favorite games, I didn't mind the sequels as much as most either. Yet, I wasn't even interested when I saw the teaser for a remake, because I knew they'd screw it up somehow.
The original game was in 2008 but they talk like it is ancient. Sure you can improve the graphic somewhat but the game runs great, it looks great, the pacing is great. It has some weapon imbalances but I honestly like weapon imbalances.
The game does not need a remake, you can play the original without problem, even the younger generation can play it.
