I wish this was done. ID for media accounts like twitter and facebook and please do that with reddit. Can you imagine r/politics without all the bots?

Yep, this is the most likely result. Reddit admins (and other sites) will just blanket verify their friendly bot accounts and then use the verified IDs to blacklist those that they disagree with. IDs for all only works if you assume that everyone will be treated fairly and equally, and only those that have been living under a rock these past few years can still think that.
