So which is it? I thought white supremacists believed they were more evolved than other races. Hence why calling people monkeys or apes was so racially controversial. So is this article about attacking Christians/Creationism? It certainly looks that way. It's not about evolution except as a byproduct of attacking those evil whites and their evil religions.

I thought the "Christian bible" was the New Testament? Do they mean the Judeo-Christian bible? Where does it talk about skin color in the bible anyways? I thought ancient peoples had no concept of race until Americans created it to justify slavery of blacks (and subjugation of the Irish and Italians)?

As the biblical story goes, the curse or mark of Cain for killing his brother was a darkening of his descendants' skin.

Where in the bible does it say this? I grew up in the Bible Belt and I've never met anyone who actually believes this and never saw this pointed out chapter and verse. I've met plenty of racists of all colors, creeds, religions, species, but none who became that way because of muh bible.

It’s common knowledge that some school boards, especially in the South, have fought long and hard to keep evolution out of school textbooks.

When I was in school I remember flipping through my biology textbook and seeing references to evolution and I was curious as to how people would react when we got to it. We learned about it just like anything else and no one gave a shit.

If you go on Amazon and look up “children’s books on evolution” you will find about 10–15 relevant titles. This is in contrast to the hundreds of children’s books on other scientific subjects such as chemistry, astronomy and other less controversial subjects. I found only one book on evolution for preschoolers, called Grandmother Fish. The author had to self-fund the book through Kickstarter.

Maybe kids don't care? A kid gets a chemistry set they can do all kinds of cool things. A kid learns astronomy they can go outside and look at the stars and see constellations. A kid gets an electronics hobby kit they can build a radio. How can a curious kid apply what they learn from a children's book on evolution? Is it evil white people, Christian creationists, the patriarchy, the boogeyman etc. etc. etc. preventing kids from wanting books about evolution and not because they serve no practical value?

Why does it seem like every article like this about evolution always brings out people who have an axe to grind against Christianity? How can religious nut jobs be expected to leave religion out of the classroom when these fucking monkeys can't? 😏
