I wish her the best! It seems like graduating was done by her decision. She's made a huge impact to bringing English and Japanese fans together, and creating a strong bond between the Hololive members themselves.
Not really familiar with her, but watching the 10 min announcement video feels like watching a hostage smile whilst someone points a gun at them behind the camera.
So I'm not so sure about that.
At the water cooler, every one in my group said that if our retiring boss was swapped out for a particular manager that was known for being a "yes woman", we would quit because she was a certifiable idiot. It was no secret she was next in line and we made no secret we would walk. The company did it anyway and I was the only one to actually walk.
Worked out great for me, that job was shit and the next one I got paid a good 50% more, but the lesson here is that people talk tough but rarely do what they say they will.
Fun fact #1: she did indeed make their lives hell, and as someone who couldn't say no, that my former group got every undesirable project shoved at them. Not only was it supposedly soul-crushing, but they wound up trading their reputations for completely different reputations that, nicely put, would be regarded as "fuck ups."
Fun fact #2: I did not recommend them at my then-current job, because I don't respect bullshitters.
Fun fact #3: refusing to give them an in meant I wasn't going to get any more gossip from the old place, but reconnecting a few years later I would find out that the whole group got laid off 6 months after I quit, so they really would have been better off leaving.
Is she leaving because of China? Didn't the Chinese start protesting Coco when she mentioned Taiwan once in a stream?
Unknown, officially it is not due to china (officially there seem to be no stated reason at all, which is standard practice I think), other unofficial sources claim otherwise, but dunno about their validity.
Yes, they started protesting when she mentioned Taiwan, when reading statics about viewers, this lead to the Chinese branch of Hololive to be shut down.
I have to doubt it was China that was behind this, or at least the #1 reason. Cover jettisoned their entire China branch rather than lose Coco and she seemed to finally be getting a handle on the anti spam recently, plus she's featured prominently in recent advertising for Hololive Alternative. Idk, it doesn't make sense to me that they'd cut her loose at this junction.
In any case, if this isn't an out-of-season April Fool's joke I hope Kaichou hangs on as a manager at Cover or some other back-office role. Maybe even the manager of Holo-EN's 2nd generation, because if I'm going to be optimistic for once I might as well go all the way.
I almost guarantee it was related to the Chinese harassment. Flare had talked about on stream before that Coco was hit hard by it and blames herself for the antis spamming. Even to this day the mere mention of Coco in some girl's streams brings spam from them flooding chat. Like what happened with Suisei a few weeks ago when she dared to do a Coco impression.
This is about a Hololive Vtuber named Coco who is leaving the business which they call "graduating".
The Chinese started protesting against her months ago when she mentioned Taiwan when talking about viewer stats.
It is possible she was being forced to quit over the Chinese backlash.
Coco is a very popular Vtuber who is responsible for bringing English and Japanese fans together as well as being someone who united all of the Hololive Vtuber members.
I only saw a few clips of Coco's streams but I found them to be funny and even based.
Happy to help people here understand what this was about!
Fuck the left!
Fuck China!
I'm gonna miss her. Even though I watched only a few of her streams, her influence on the rest of the gang is apparent.
