You're not the only one. My take on the world used to be "We're all just human beings on a ball of mud that's hurtling through the cosmos. We should treat everyone like they're your brother/sister". I didn't care if someone was black, white, yellow, red, or pink with purple polkadots. I didn't care if they were straight, gay, or bi, because what they did in their own bedroom is their business.
Now? Now that they've made skin color, sexual orientation, and ability (or lack thereof) the sole focus of how they value someone? As soon as someone makes it known that's all they care about, I shut down and just judge them as being an IdPol NPC idiot. Unfortunately, you can't rationalize with zealots, and they're the foot soldiers in the cult that is wokeism.
Hah, same.
They also say you can't stay non-ultralib if you travel and shit. I used to be much more left-leaning before I lived in Sweden. Now? Fuck it all, I refuse to entertain the ideas of weirdos.
I was never lefty but I used to think western Europe was some kind of a promised land where everything is better than in my post-commie shithole. It made sense because my first contact with the west was a trip to Austria in the early 90s when I was a kid, and the difference was absolutely stark the moment you crossed the border. I saw the first clean public bathroom in my life, and Vienna was beautiful, not falling apart like my hometown.
A couple decades passed, I traveled more, I got to look around, and hooo boy, fuck all of that.
Shitlibs always say xenophobia and nationalism are just ignorance and they go away with more contact. It turns out that's just another truthism completely divorced from reality, just like "diversity is strenght".
