It was actually Classical Air playing on NPR that got me into classical music when I was young. Mother dearest has basically never stopped listening to that station for the last 40 or so years so I had a lot of exposure to it while growing up, but eventually it disappeared off their broadcasting in my area, and I had to find it online after that. That must have been in the AOL days. Now it's a split between NPR and the BBC stuff.
There is not a single decent rock station broadcasting today. You used to get lucky with some college radio stations but they have a limited range and today they mostly suck.
But if you are ok with listening to canned recordings, about 50 songs of classic rock, 50 alt rock, a fuck ton of commercials, and maybe 100 of whatever passes as rock these days, on repeat, day after day, sure, go ahead and lock that station down.
Classical radio, on the other hand, offers up some of the wildest shit. Seriously, I constantly hear stuff from people I've never even heard of. Not all of it is good but it is worth checking out.
National Propaganda Radio.

It's kind of surprising that they haven't eliminated it yet as part of their ongoing campaign of shitting on everyone and everything white.
