I'm asking a serious question that in normal times would be best asked somewhere else. But since we're living in clown world this is the only place I can a) trust the answers I get and b) not get banned.
Leaving aside the transtrenders and "nonbinary" losers on Twatter, the social climbers in general (ie most of the FtM trannies) and the gay men who become trannies to avoid being gay, is there really such a thing as transgenderism/gender dysphoria that isn't simply autogynephilic perverts taking their fetish way too far? I couldn't help but wonder this when I read about this tranny concluding that his post operation reduced libido meant he really did have gender dysphoria, as if chopping it off isn't the obvious explanation for his reduced sex drive.
Sort of. I know gender dysphoria used to be a legitimate psychiatric diagnosis before it was removed for political reasons. I guess I'm asking if there's a subset of those with diagnosed/diagnosable gender dysphoria whose real problem isn't some kind of sexual disorder, or if they all just need the kind of treatment they would get if it were any other fetish so strong that it takes over their lives.
Roughly 3% of western men have autogynephilic thoughts.

At max, 2% of dudes think they're chicks. There's probably some overlap there.
There are people like Philosophy Tube who do it because they want to gain or maintain their status as nobles. A man throwing on a dress is an easy path to power and adoration. It can also be sexual without autogynephillia, as in the case of many rapists who simply want access to the women's prison
There's a fetish for wearing women's clothes that might explain some of it. In the past they would just be transvestites.
I think that autogynephilia is the most visible group due to their desire towards attention of the fact that they are dressing up as the opposite sex. There are some that have other mental issues that cause them to think that will satisfy them. Like the people who want to cut their own arms or legs off, which is called body integrity dysphoria.
Either way it's something that should not be encouraged with things like surgery or hormones.
