Literally everyone in my irl friendgroup, other than my roommate/rentoid, is bragging about getting vaccinated. They're so excited that the government says you can have small gatherings, (without masks yay!), if everyone there's vaccinated.
I'm just going to lie straight to all their faces. There's no point in trying to combat irrationality. They're literally at the point where if Fauci said you could get the commie coof from sewer vapors arising from a toilet they'd be shitting in a litterbox the next day. And none of them are in any kind of risk group, except one is mildly asthmatic, like if he didn't mention it I would never have known mild.
I'm not looking forward to the told-you-sos in 5 years when they start having kids and are dealing with thalidomide esque birth defects, but they don't want to hear it now so whatever. Hope they enjoy not being able to get any compensation for fucking up their own future

I could see someone downvoting your post for mentioning that you're hiding the fact you didn't get vaxxed instead of "standing up for it."
I prefer to be mum on the issue unless someone asks me, then I'm going to tell them straight up I did not. I'd prefer to end the discussion at that point, but If they pry into why, then I'll tell them the many reasons -- being in a very low risk demo, questionable positive case and death numbers, no desire to take an experimental vaccine, availability of theraputics, overblown fearmongering, etc.
If they want to personally hold it against me, that's their issue, not mine. If my employer wants to hold it against me, I'll either work from home until some arbitrary date or pursue legal action depending on what they do.
That's fair, but you do what you gotta do as a right-winger in a blue state. I really don't want to have to find another 10 people to make friends with. At least these people don't get outraged at Hitler jokes
And I'm of the mindset that I will never bring up vacc unprompted, but if asked I'm just gonna lie so I can have these retards over to grill some shit
For once I'm glad my government is utterly incompetent. Nobody in my age group can get the vaccine even if they wanted to (with the exception of health care workers and the like). Hell, even 70+ year olds who can technically get it have to wait for months to get an appointment. They completely bungled the procurement of vaccines.
