Apparently the diggers finally found their spines. Australia is completely out on the BRI.
But that sort of thing was known for a while though. I still don't know what China did in 2018 that caused Aussie gov orgs to do a 180. Just went straight from sucking Xi's dick to telling them to fuck off.
Maybe they tried blackmailing the wrong person, who knows.
WTF are you on about?
This started when Australia called for an independent inquiry into the origins of Covid, and China reponded with a series of trade sanctions on Australian exports (so far: barley, beef, cotton, seafood, timber, coal & wine).
It's been an ongoing dispute with China for over a year now, and this is just the latest round.
It's also the first time the federal govt is exercising new powers that basically allow it to tear up any agreements made by individual states with other countries if they are against Australia's interests.
