Do you think other powers wont take the US place and do it worse? Just look at how China is taking over because the US has been showing weakness for decades.
China, a literal analogue to Nazi Germany with absolutely no freedom whatsoever, a dictator, a single party that rules everything, concentration camps for minorities, killing and disappearing all political dissenters home and abroad, is one of the biggest economies in the world, and you want to "not get involved in other nations affairs", you need to grow up from your utopian ideals.
