Been seeing it a lot lately, wondering if there are any good takedowns of the concept.

Remember the housing market crash due to subprime mortgage lending? That came about in an attempt to fight ‘redlining’. It’s the same arguments that Thomas Sowell blew out of the water decades ago.
The deep crimson pill: democrats know perfectly well that their policies don't work - because they are meant not to. Obamacare was meant to destroy our healthcare system. The lockdowns were meant to destroy the middle class. The stimulus packages are meant to create inflation. All of the destruction that follows leftist policy is a feature, not a bug. These people have always talked openly about their desire to tear down society and rebuild it in their own image. Any wonder that all of their policy decisions conveniently move us closer to that goal? Why does anyone trust these monsters to react genuinely to our current crisis?
This is the correct view.
I don't know why people trust leftists at all.
I trust them to make a nice thud after being tossed from a helicopter.
