Umm, yeah? It's not my fucking responsibility to pay for them.
In my 20-year professional career, I've never seen a woman come back to the office after their "maternity leave," except one time. And that one time, she had another kid about a year later and quit after that maternity leave.
The whole point of "maternity leave" was to preserve the careers of the people who took it. There should be claw-back provisions for people who abuse it.

And? If women decide not to work to take care of their kids, that sounds great to me.

Perhaps. But it's not a bad thing for people to take care of their kids...
No, it's part of the plan to milk our wallets before they kill us.

Poor thing, will you ever recover from paying for such undeserving people as [checks notes] women who had miscarriages?

I don't live in NZ, so of course I will.
I just hope it doesn't propagate across the world like every other gendered fuck up law they ever created.
Happy "equal pay day" - something that we never had to deal with outside of feminist propaganda articles before fucking NZ made it a real thing.
Let's hope this sensible law is enacted elsewhere as well.
Yes, bring up irrelevant nonsense to distract from the fact that this is an eminently reasonable law.
If a baby is just a clump of cells, then a miscarriage isn't a problem. You can't have it both ways.
